Always a useful place for “new finds”hemmelKeymasterJanuary 11, 2018 at 13:29Post count: 738
Yup, I was just about to start a thread myself!
First up, Loma (a group consisting of Shearwater’s singer and the band Cross Record).
Next, in case we need a reminder from last year, Lo Moon. They did an NPR Tiny Desk Concert last week, and it’s great. Debut album announcement is supposed to be imminent.atibensParticipantJanuary 22, 2018 at 17:49Post count: 976

Brendon Canty and Joe Lally’s (from Fugazi) new band, Messthetics (with Anthony Pirog on guitar). Not sure if this is my cup of tea, but will definitely check out due to my Fugazi fondness (and with Joe back in the US….maybe we can end the hiatus).

Easily one of my favorite artists of the last 25 years, Luke Sutherland, has a new band called Rev Magnetic. He was in Long Fin Kille (early 90s Too Pure), Bows (early 00s Too Pure), Music A.M., has been a member of Mogwai (violin and vocals), and has written 3 novels. It’s awesome to have him back.
Bandcamp tags it as: electronic, experimental, r&b, rock, dream pop, shoe gaze, Glasgow. I honestly can’t think of a different way to explain it.hemmelKeymasterFebruary 2, 2018 at 13:59Post count: 738atibensParticipantFebruary 8, 2018 at 12:38Post count: 976

The new Hookworms is a good one. A little less guitar, a little more synth, and a little extra polish on the production compared to their previous albums but they still deliver the goods. I imaging they’d be a great live band, hope to see them one day.atibensParticipantFebruary 21, 2018 at 13:27Post count: 976
